What to Expect
Evaluation typically includes a detailed clinical examination, neck ultrasound, and where required, fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) or core needle biopsy to characterise any mass. CT or MRI imaging is arranged for oncological assessment. Thyroid and salivary procedures require general anaesthesia with a one- to two-night hospital stay. Post-operative histopathology results are reviewed at a follow-up clinic appointment within 1–2 weeks.
